Ned Lamont signing a bill legalizing cannabis into law earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- hearst\/article\/content\/zone.tpl --> <!-- hearst\/article\/content\/embed.tpl --> <\/p>\n<section class=\"article--content-embed automatched\" data-eid=\"item-98462\"> <!-- amp-exco-6a858a35-b8cb-4347-84a8-9f2884e9c8ae --> <\/section>\n<p><!-- e hearst\/article\/content\/embed.tpl --> <!-- e hearst\/article\/content\/zone.tpl --> <\/p>\n<p>Hebert said the notice went up soon after legalization.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were a few incidents in the beginning when people didn\u2019t know they couldn\u2019t bring it into a courthouse,\u201d she said. \u201cThose incidents, however, have tapered off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cannabis may be legal to possess in the state \u2014 1.5 ounces openly and another 5 ounces in a locked container &#8212; but that doesn\u2019t necessarily mean you can carry or smoke pot anywhere in the state.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cga.ct.gov\/2021\/BA\/PDF\/2021SB-01201-R02SS1-BA.PDF\">The law<\/a> does place some limits on where cannabis can be used. Residents are not, for example, allowed to consume cannabis in public buildings, most workplaces and stores and state parks, among other locations.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- Missed: ad --> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bottom line is, anyplace that smoking tobacco is illegal, either smoking or vaping cannabis will also be illegal,\u201d state Rep. Steve Stafstrom, D-Bridgeport, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ctpost.com\/news\/article\/Answering-your-questions-about-marijuana-16265394.php\">said earlier this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article--content-inline\">\n<aside class=\"zone\"> <!-- hearst\/home\/mostPopular.tpl --> <!--e hearst\/home\/mostPopular.tpl --><!-- src\/business\/widgets\/hearst\/collection\/widget.tpl --> <!-- e src\/business\/widgets\/hearst\/collection\/widget.tpl --><\/aside>\n<\/aside>\n<p>The law does not specifically limit the possession of cannabis in state courthouses, but the judicial branch has put in place a rule preventing possession inside courthouses.<\/p>\n<p>The judicial branch decided to treat marijuana like it would alcohol, according to a July statement \u2014 not illegal, but not permitted.
