Meanwhile, the average American spent about $30.40 on Halloween candy and $33.59 on costumes this year, totaling $63.99, according to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/now\/much-americans-spend-halloween-204332169.html\" rel=\"follow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">National Retail Federation (NRF)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;From the year over year increases in spending to the costume and candy comparison, it&#8217;s clear that Americans are choosing to celebrate holidays with cannabis,&#8221; said James Ahrendt, Business Intelligence Architect at Akerna.<\/p>\n<p>By all accounts, Halloween 2021 was bountiful.
