{"id":2717,"date":"2021-11-29T23:59:59","date_gmt":"2021-11-29T23:59:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/CBMiW2h0dHBzOi8vc3Bva2FuZWZhdnMuY29tL3Nwb2thbmUtdmFsbGV5LXZpZ2lsLXRvLWJlLWhlbGQtaW4tcmVzcG9uc2UtdG8tcml0dGVuaG91c2UtdmVyZGljdC_SAQA"},"modified":"2021-11-29T23:59:59","modified_gmt":"2021-11-29T23:59:59","slug":"spokane-valley-vigil-to-be-held-in-response-to-rittenhouse-verdict-spokanefavs-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thcinct.com\/?p=2717","title":{"rendered":"Spokane Valley Vigil to be Held in Response to Rittenhouse Verdict &#8211; spokanefavs.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"heateor_sssp_sharing_container heateor_sssp_horizontal_sharing\">\n<p>Share this story!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"h-spokane-valley-vigil-to-be-held-in-response-to-rittenhouse-verdict\">Spokane Valley Vigil to be Held in Response to Rittenhouse Verdict<\/h2>\n<p>According to an announcement, on Tuesday (Nov. 30) a vigil will be held at <a href=\"https:\/\/veradaleucc.org\/\">Veradale United Church of Christ<\/a> in response to \u201cimmoral systemic racism in our justice system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The vigil, organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/category\/Community\/Faith-Leaders-and-Leaders-of-Conscience-Eastern-Washington-and-North-Idaho-2065038930200180\/\">Faith Leaders and Leaders of Conscious of Eastern Washington and North Idaho<\/a>, is being held in response to the Nov. 19 acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse.<\/p>\n<p>Rittenhouse, who fatally shot two men and wounded another during protests and rioting over police conduct in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year, was found not guilty of homicide and other charges.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement read this, \u201cIs a time to be together to grieve\u2026what has happened\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Faith leaders from various traditions are expected to speak about the trial, as well as other recent events including the conviction of Ahmaud Arbery\u2019s killers, Gregory McMichael, Travis McMichael and William \u201cRoddie\u201d Bryan Jr.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile the ruling give some hope that our justice system might work, we also know that if the video of the attack had not been leaked, there would have been no arrest or trial,\u201d the organizers of vigil wrote.<\/p>\n<p>It will take place at 7 p.m. at the church, 611 N.
