Andy Beshear (D)<\/span><\/a><span> said legalizing medical marijuana is \u201cthe future\u201d and that he wants to let farmers grow cannabis to sell to other states.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/virginia-lawmakers-tout-benefits-of-psychedelics-as-activists-prepare-push-for-statewide-reform\/\"><span>Two Virginia lawmakers<\/span><\/a><span> hosted an event where activists kicked off an effort to decriminalize psychedelics.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span>A <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/missouri-police-couldnt-use-marijuana-odor-to-justify-searches-under-new-bill\/\"><span>Missouri representative<\/span><\/a><span> filed a bill to prevent police from using the smell of marijuana as \u201cprobable cause to conduct a warrantless search of a motor vehicle, home, or other private property.\u201d<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><b>\/ FEDERAL<\/b><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Surgeon_General\/status\/1468208429521059843\"><span>Surgeon General Vivek Murthy<\/span><\/a><span> issued an advisory on youth mental health that urges people to \u201c\u200b\u200bavoid substances that can ultimately make you feel tired, down, or depressed, such as alcohol, marijuana, vaping, and tobacco.\u201d<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span>The administrator of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hempgrower.com\/article\/usda-rma-administrator-discusses-changes-to-hemp-crop-insurance\/\"><span>U.S. Department of Agriculture\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span> Risk Management Agency spoke about changes to hemp crop insurance rules.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span>The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/crsreports.congress.gov\/product\/pdf\/IF\/IF11984\"><span>Congressional Research Service<\/span><\/a><span> published a report on the differing hemp provisions in the 2014 and 2018 Farm Bills.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenSchumer\/status\/1469033528369180675\"><span>Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY)<\/span><\/a><span> tweeted, \u201cI\u2019m working with @SenBooker and @RonWyden to pass our Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act to end federal prohibition. It\u2019s long past time to end the federal prohibition on marijuana and ensure equity for communities impacted by the War on Drugs.\u201d<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenTedCruz\/status\/1468713616320999434\"><span>Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)<\/span><\/a><span> criticized the newly confirmed U.S. attorney for Massachusetts for not wanting to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruz.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/sen-cruz-blasts-democrat-colleagues-over-radical-biden-nominee-here-are-the-15-crimes-rachael-rollins-wouldnt-prosecuteand-youre-about-to-make-her-a-us-attorney\"><span>prosecute<\/span><\/a><span> people for possessing marijuana and other drugs.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.siriusxm.com\/clips\/clip\/65cfb29a-195e-4b44-91fb-9e855ad51e03\/fcf26869-0a13-4a32-80fc-d939e5a5c2ab\"><span>Rep.
