Jared Polis (D)<\/span><\/a><span> pardoned 1,351 people for past marijuana convictions.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>\u201cAdults can legally possess marijuana in Colorado, just as they can beer or wine. It\u2019s unfair that 1,351 additional Coloradans had permanent blemishes on their record that interfered with employment, credit, and gun ownership, but today we have fixed that by pardoning their possession of small amounts of marijuana that occurred during the failed prohibition era.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/feds-use-a-confusingly-cool-looking-cheetah-for-psa-discouraging-marijuana-impaired-driving\/\"><span>National Highway Traffic Safety Administration<\/span><\/a><span> is causing confusion with a federally funded ad featuring a surprisingly cool-looking cheetah smoking marijuana behind the wheel as part of an effort to deter impaired driving.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><b>\/ FEDERAL<\/b><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenSchumer\/status\/1476597450425221121\"><span>Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY)<\/span><\/a><span> tweeted, \u201cAmericans across the country are sending a clear message: The vast majority support legalizing marijuana. @RonWyden, @SenBooker, &amp; I are working to pass our Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act to end the federal prohibition and repair the harm done by the War on Drugs.\u201d<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span>Pennsylvania Democratic Senate candidate <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JohnFetterman\/status\/1476356727780122632\"><span>John Fetterman<\/span><\/a><span>, currently the lieutenant governor, tweeted, \u201cEvery year, 20,000 Pennsylvania residents are hit with a stupid weed charge that generates a criminal record. Meanwhile, *Arizona*&nbsp; ? lets you grow a *dozen* marijuana plants at home\/ per couple. Legal Weed for PA + USA ??\u201d<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><b>\/ STATES<\/b><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.providencejournal.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2021\/12\/30\/ri-gov-mckee-looks-to-2022-covid-19-undocumented-drivers-licenses-more\/9039164002\/\"><span>Rhode Island<\/span><\/a><span> Gov. Dan McKee (D) said he\u2019s not privy to the latest negotiations on marijuana legalization legislation but reiterated that he thinks an existing agency should regulate the new market.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MerrittForTexas\/status\/1476192534259027972\"><span>Texas<\/span><\/a><span> Democratic attorney general candidate Lee Merritt tweeted, \u201cThe violence of the so-called \u2018war on drugs\u2019 has taken countless lives and devastated entire black and brown communities for the past 50 years. It is time to decriminalize marijuana. It is time to rebuild the disproportionately damaged communities.\u201d<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span>The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OrinKerr\/status\/1476304398301024256\"><span>Pennsylvania<\/span><\/a><span> Supreme Court ruled that the smell of marijuana cannot on its own provide probable cause for medical cannabis cultivation, processing and testing rules.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sbg.colorado.gov\/sites\/sbg\/files\/211230_IB_%2021-12_Delayed_Implementation_of_New_Testing_Requirements.pdf\"><span>Colorado<\/span><\/a><span> regulators are delaying implementation of a rule requiring that marijuana vaporizer devices be tested for metal contamination.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DCGov_ABRA\/status\/1476579209439027200\"><span>Washington, D.C.<\/span><\/a><span> regulators extended a same-day medical cannabis patient and caregiver registration program through April 28.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/olcc\/marijuana\/Documents\/Bulletins\/Compliance_2021_04.pdf\"><span>Oregon<\/span><\/a><span> regulators published a compliance bulletin about new cannabis rules.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/content.govdelivery.com\/accounts\/WALCB\/bulletins\/303213a\"><span>Washington State<\/span><\/a><span> regulators published an updated list of pesticides allowed to be used in high-THC marijuana production.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ccd.rld.state.nm.us\/2021\/11\/29\/adult-use-cannabis-marketing-advertising-packaging-and-labeling-edible-and-topical-product-safety\/\"><span>New Mexico<\/span><\/a><span> regulators held a hearing on proposed rules on marijuana marketing, packaging and labeling and on edible and topical product safety.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><a
