In just over a month, Chileans will vote on a new constitution that would bring the most radical changes to the country since the end of Augusto Pinochet’s military dictatorship.<\/p>\n

The proposed text focuses on social rights, the environment and gender equality, which represents a sharp change from the current 1980 constitution written during Pinochet’s first term which focuses on privacy rights and free market principles.<\/p>\n

These are some of the changes that the proposed 388-article constitution, completed at the beginning of July, would make.<\/p>\n
