Norwich Police said multiple suspects broke into Hazy Budz on Boswell Avenue Monday morning and stole thousands of dollars worth of items.<\/p>\n
NORWICH, Conn. – A second CBD store was robbed Monday morning in Norwich. The owner has asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspects who are still at large. <\/p>\n
Another CBD shop was also robbed in Norwich in May. <\/p>\n
“We don’t want to get attacked again,” said Marc Cortez, owner of Hazy Budz. <\/p>\n
Shortly before 3 a.m. Monday, Cortez was awakened by police who notified him of a burglary at his Boswell Avenue business. <\/p>\n
When he arrived, the window glass in his store was broken and he said the damage is worth more than $4,000. <\/p>\n
RELATED: CBD store owner believes stores are being targeted<\/strong><\/p>\n “We found blood all over the floor from when he had lacerations on his left hand, so it’s going to be someone with cuts on his left hand,” Cortez added. <\/p>\n There are approximately 13 surveillance cameras outside his business. Luckily, some of these cameras caught the suspects in the act. <\/p>\n Footage shows two suspects entering the store, with their heads and faces covered by a black hood and taking products and stuffing them into backpacks. <\/p>\n Cortez said they stole $1,500 in edible gummies, air fresheners and CBD cartridges. <\/p>\n RELATED: ‘Giving away’ cannabis now carries a $1,000 fine in Connecticut<\/strong><\/p>\n “Just when you’re stealing from us, like I said, you’re not only hurting us as a company, you’re hurting my family, you’re hurting other families of employees that we employ,” Cortez added. <\/p>\n Norwich police are investigating whether this incident is related to the Greenleaf Farms robbery in May.<\/p>\n “There’s a good chance these two incidents are related and it’s the same people. The May incident, the method of entry was the same with a rock to get into the storefront,” said Detective Christopher Hawrylik of Norwich Police.
