Officers initially thought the bear was using the drain to travel or take a break from the heat, but soon realized it needed help.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When they say it takes a village, it sure does,&#8221; said Connecticut State Environmental Police <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CTEnConPolice\">a Facebook post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Environmental police, as well as members of the Simsbury Police Department and city crews, removed storm drain covers and brought in a 10-foot log to help the bears out.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After some time and some cub calling from our bear biologist, the mother and her 2 cubs got out of the drain,&#8221; the agency said.
