COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UPDATE: The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Hispanic man in connection with a shooting early Sunday that prompted a shelter-in-place order in the Widefield-Security area.<\/p>\n

The man is identified as John Paz. The sheriff’s office shared his photo on Twitter Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents living in the area of \u200b\u200bPonderosa Drive and Grand Boulevard in Security-Widefield to shelter in place. In a social media post, the sheriff’s office asked residents to secure their homes and stay away from windows and doors.<\/p>\n

This is in response to ongoing law enforcement activity related to a shooting in the area. They ask the public to only dial 911 in the event of a life-or-death emergency.<\/p>\n
