Updates were not provided Monday on the injured victims\u2019 conditions, but an investigator with the medical examiner\u2019s office told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution at least one was fighting for life in a hospital. It was not clear if any were related to each other.<\/p>\n
Any death is a tragedy, Hampton said, but it\u2019s especially unfortunate when children are involved. A city park is no place for gun violence, he said.<\/p>\n

Investigators are still working to determine what prompted the gunfire. It was not immediately clear how many people fired shots, and no suspect information was released.<\/p>\n
Police are asking anyone who visited Rosa L. Burney park on Sunday evening to come forward with information. Hampton said initial reports indicate there were large crowds attending the ball game and there may be additional witnesses to the shooting.<\/p>\n

There was a dark colored Kia Cadenza sedan and a white Kia Optima sedan that cased the area for approximately 1 hour until the victims exited the barbershop and entered their vehicle. As the victims began to drive south on Peters St, both Kia vehicles followed. When the victim\u2019s vehicle approached a red lighted intersection at Peters St and Chapel St, the dark colored Kia drove along the passenger side of the victim\u2019s vehicle. The driver of the dark colored Kia began to open fire on the victim\u2019s vehicle, striking a three (3) year old child who was sitting in the back seat.
