It is for private sector employees only, not federal, state or municipal workers.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"cms__embed-related-story\">RELATED: Connecticut essential workers can apply for $1,000 &#8216;hero&#8217; pay<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  There are specific requirements that people must meet to apply:<\/p>\n<p> Employed as an essential worker in CT from March 10, 2020 to May 7, 2022. Cannot work from home Not employed by a federal, state, or municipal government agency.  Earned $149,999 or less.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ctessentialworkerrelief.org\/premium-eligible-to-apply\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Applications are available to the public right now<\/a>but the deadline is not until October 1st.  The comptroller emphasizes that the money will not be given on a first-come, first-served basis. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Subscribe to FOX61 newsletters: <\/strong>Morning forecast, morning headlines, evening headlines<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We want to make sure everyone gets the same treatment and that payments are adjusted as needed,&#8221; said Natalie Braswell of the CT State Comptroller&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>They have a total of $30 million to distribute and it will be distributed as follows:<\/p>\n<p>$1,000 for those making less than $100,000 a year $500 for part-time workers Less money for those making more than $100,000 a year.  The limit is $150,000, these people will get less than a thousand.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"cms__embed-related-story\">RELATED: No, Social Security Recipients Not Getting New $1,400 Stimulus Checks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This all took place in a soft launch last week and already 30,000 people have shown interest.<\/p>\n<p>Braswell said those selected should see their checks arrive in the mail within 60 days of the Oct. 1 deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Julia LeBlanc is a reporter for FOX61 News.
