Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins \u200b\u200bwas sent home because he wasn’t feeling well during today’s training camp practice.<\/p>\n

Head coach Kevin O’Connell says the team is still “working out” whether or not the starting quarterback has COVID-19. There is no conclusive answer yet, according to Vikings reporter Ben Goessling.<\/p>\n

Cousins \u200b\u200bwas very outspoken in his refusal to accept the COVID-19 vaccine during the 2021 season.<\/p>\n

The NFL world reacted on Twitter to this news.<\/p>\n

“I’m sure the reaction to this will be nothing short of thoughtful and well-reasoned,” one fan wrote.<\/p>\n

“It’s ok… If he has Covid now is the time to get it… he’ll be ok on 9\/11,” added another.<\/p>\n

“If there’s any good from this… at least it’s happening now and not in 3 weeks (or later),” said another.<\/p>\n

O’Connell addressed Cousins’ illness after today’s practice.<\/p>\n

“I haven’t gotten much of an update, but I know he wasn’t well before,” he said, per ProFootballTalk.<\/a> “We have a process in place where we’ve sent him home, and we’ll go through our processes internally. I’ll have an update for you as the week goes on about his availability for the Raider game.”<\/p>\n

With or without Cousins, the Vikings will open their preseason schedule with a matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.<\/p>\n
