A pretty wild Wayne Gretzky lawsuit story is trending on social media this morning.<\/p>\n

According to a TMZ report, the legendary NHL star is being sued over his claims of chewing gum.<\/p>\n

Really.<\/p>\n

“Wayne Gretzky allegedly lied about dropping pounds by chewing gum, and a man is suing the hockey legend over it … claiming The Great One’s big-time fiction cost him $10 MILLION,” reports TMZ.<\/p>\n

From the report:<\/a><\/p>\n

The problem, according to Sparks, is that Wayne eventually made up a lie about the gum, saying that after chewing it for about a two-month period … it helped him lose 35 pounds. <\/p>\n

Sparks alleged that Wayne used the lie to increase the company’s stock, “which he surreptitiously bought in his family’s name.”<\/p>\n

Gretzky, one of the greatest athletes in sports history, is being sued for a lot of money.<\/p>\n

Sports fans are quite surprised with the story.<\/p>\n

“I’m surprised you can’t actually lose weight by chewing gum,” one fan wrote.<\/p>\n

“It’s going to be hard to prove that the ‘weight loss gum’ company isn’t lying too. It’s going to be hard to prove damages because the company was in decline anyway, as it’s complete snake oil and when the people didn’t lose weight, stopped buying Jerk suing yet to be settled,\u201d wrote another fan.<\/p>\n

It will be interesting to see how this ends.<\/p>\n
