Connecticut State Police said this week it has stripped a detective of his police powers pending the results of an active investigation.<\/p>\n

Detective Michael O’Hara was placed on administrative leave Monday, state police said. State police did not disclose the cause or the nature of the investigation.<\/p>\n

“This investigation is active and ongoing and to maintain the integrity of the investigation we are unable to discuss any further details regarding this incident,” state police said in a statement.<\/p>\n

O’Hara has been with the department’s Office of Special Investigations since 2018. State payroll records show his total compensation was $145,936 in 2021, including a base salary of $106,960 and $25,383 in pay overtime hours.<\/p>\n
