NCSA Champion Cade Duncan Verbally Commits to Northwestern

NEW COMMITMENT: US Open Ranking Cade Duncan from Spring, Texas has verbally committed to Northwestern University and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2023.

His older brother, Caleb Duncanis a senior sprinter at Louisville.

He told Swimming World:

“I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Northwestern University! I would like to thank my family, friends and coaches who have supported me throughout this process; I would not have made it this far without them. I’m excited to be joining a great program and team! Go cats!”

Duncan trains year-round with the Dad’s Club Swim Team, where he is a team record holder and team captain. Won the 50m/100m freestyle at the NCSA championships last month, also placed third in the 100m fly and fourth in the 50m back. He also ran the 100m freestyle at the Phillips 66 International Team Trials in April.

In December, Duncan placed 13th in the 100 freestyle at Juniors West before posting a trio of top-eight finishes at Austin Sectionals.

His best moments include:

50 lb – 20.34 100 lb – 44.00 200 lb – 1:38.88 100 fly – 48.78 100 back – 49.55

Duncan will begin his senior year at The Kincaid School in Houston this fall.

It’s a big plus for the Wildcats: His top 50 free times would have ranked third on their lineup last season and would have been No. 5 in the 200 free and No. 6 in the 50 free/100 fly/ 100 back .
