Funeral for Connecticut mom who killed kids, then herself

A Connecticut mother who strangled her three children before taking her own life was laid to rest Friday next to the children she murdered, as heartbreaking photos showed the father crying goodbye to his family. Sonia Loja, 36, and her children were memorialized at St. Peter’s Church in Danbury in matching white caskets and buried at St. Peter’s Cemetery in a service attended by about 100 mourners. The media were not allowed in the church. Devastated father Pedro Panjon followed the coffins out of the church after the funeral as two men held his arms to steady him. Panjon broke…

Cultured Cafe brings house-fermented drinks to New Haven

NEW HAVEN: If the smoothies, fruit syrups and kombuchas at the new healthy spot in town, The Cult Cafe on State Street, it looks pretty cool, there’s a reason for that. Owner Alexander Angeloff grew them himself. And if Angeloff, 30, seems a bit like a cross between a former apothecary owner and a mad scientist, well, there’s a reason for at least part of that, too. It is a member of the Silver family, which for generations owned and operated the iconic Silver’s Drug Shop in downtown West Haven. His grandfather was the late Ed Silver, who with brother…

Darolutamide (Nubeqa) is a new hormone therapy that works by blocking the androgen receptor. Androgens are the hormones that act as the “fuel” for prostate cancer. Meet the Kenyan presidential candidate campaigning on marijuana and hyena testicles | World News

As Kenya’s two main presidential contenders jostle for votes in the upcoming election, a third candidate has emerged on a marijuana-and-hyena testicles campaign to help solve the country’s economic woes. East Africa’s richest nation will hold elections on August 9, with veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto leading a tight race. However, reggae aficionado George Wajackoyah has emerged as a wild card candidate, pledging to erase the country’s debt with his “ganja solution”. Wajackoyah has attracted younger members of the electorate, and many say mainstream politicians have failed to tackle corruption, inflation and unemployment. The undertaker-turned-law…
