US stock futures sink after red-hot jobs report, yields jump

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stocks fell in premarket trading after a hotter-than-expected hiring report suggested the Federal Reserve will need to remain aggressive in its efforts to fight the inflation S&P 500 futures fell 1% after being slightly higher just before the Labor Department released its latest jobs numbers, which showed an increase of 528,000 jobs, compared with expectations for a gain of 250,000 jobs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.7% and the Nasdaq fell 1.3%. Bond yields rose, with the 2-year Treasury yield rising to 3.2%. The 10-year Treasury yield rose to 2.81%.
