A pair of research projects funded by $20 million in tax revenue from Michigan’s adult-use cannabis program will analyze the effects of medical marijuana in military veterans, state officials announced on Tuesday. The bulk of the money, nearly $13 million, will examine “the efficacy of marijuana in treating the medical conditions of United States armed service veterans and preventing veteran suicide,” according to recipients at the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). Share this:           A new cannabis law recently enacted in Connecticut includes tight restrictions on the sale of delta-8 THC, as the state joins others around the USA that are either banning the synthetic compound or putting it under the same regulations as marijuana. The state’s new law restricts sales of delta-8 THC to licensed cannabis retailers or medical marijuana dispensaries in a fashion similar to rules governing the more common delta-9 THC derived from marijuana plants. The law took effect July 1.
