Share this:           A new cannabis law recently enacted in Connecticut includes tight restrictions on the sale of delta-8 THC, as the state joins others around the USA that are either banning the synthetic compound or putting it under the same regulations as marijuana. The state’s new law restricts sales of delta-8 THC to licensed cannabis retailers or medical marijuana dispensaries in a fashion similar to rules governing the more common delta-9 THC derived from marijuana plants. The law took effect July 1.

Eastern to launch hemp cultivation program in fall 2021 – Journal Inquirer

WILLIMANTIC, CT — Beginning this fall semester, Eastern Connecticut State University will offer one of Connecticut’s first hemp cultivation minors with an eye toward expansion as an interdisciplinary major in the future. When Connecticut approved the legalization of adult-use marijuana last month, it became the latest state to institute a ban on hemp-derived THC products, including delta-8 THC and delta-10 THC, for companies without a license to sell them.
