WESTPORT, CT — Businesses related to the sale or purchase of recreational marijuana are temporarily prohibited in Westport as of Wednesday, the Connecticut Post reports. The temporary prohibition was approved this month by the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission.
According to the Connecticut Post, P&Z officials said they wanted more information and time to properly explore the issue as there are currently too many unanswered questions about how these businesses would affect the town.
The resolution is in response to a state law legalizing adult use and possession of recreational marijuana, which is effective as of July 1.
