Cannabis Insider Live will hold its New England virtual event on Wednesday, Jan. 26, with industry leaders and experts set to discuss the Massachusetts cannabis business, research into consumers’ evolving behavior and choices, and breaking down systemic and discriminatory policy barriers to help a billion-dollar industry be more equitable.
Nikki Fried, Florida’s commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services and an advocate who’s pressed the Biden administration to modernize cannabis policy, will be the event’s keynote speaker. In a letter to the White House last year, Fried highlighted how marijuana policy has led to discrimination of people of color, and she noted that nearly seven in 10 adults approve of marijuana use.
Set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 26, the event will also offer discussion on best practices among business leaders in the burgeoning industry across Massachusetts, Connecticut and the region.
The event moderators are Adam Stern, of Cannabis Review Quarterly, and Anthony Cignoli, of the A. L. Cignoli Company.

Panels include discussion on discrimination and industry success stories among people of color; security in the cannabis industry; the finances behind the business; and in-depth consumer research as the industry develops.
