BASF has introduced ComfortBD to the US market, a natural CBD-based ingredient derived from industrial hemp grown on US farms that intend to seek certification for their organic farming practices. ComfortBD is an effective ingredient that supports the appearance of matte skin and calms the appearance of red, irritated skin.
“Since the pandemic, consumers have changed their preferences, looking for sustainable and efficient solutions, and CBD is the perfect candidate for this, as it is a natural solution that offers relaxing and calming properties,” said Nader Mahmoud, Vice President of business management for the personal care of the north. America “Our research and development team has extensive experience with plant and botanical extracts. They found the exact synergy and combination to create an active ingredient extracted from L. cannabis sativa sustainably sourced and grown in the United States.”
With monitored levels of CBD greater than 80% and less than 0.2% total THC, ComfortBD demonstrates its efficacy in both in vitro and in vivo testing. In addition, the development of various skin care formulations shows the flexibility of ComfortBD in final products without impact on color or odor. With this launch, BASF expands its offering of natural and inclusive solutions to Care Creations’ existing portfolio of innovative skin care solutions.
