Diligence | The Guardian Nigeria News

We all need diligence to seek God. The exemplary life of Jesus Christ should teach us diligence. Our Heavenly Father’s business must be taken seriously. Jesus’ purposes and goals were to fulfill the will of his Father. He knew that his goal and purpose was to please the one who sent him. Any work that promotes the gospel should be taken very seriously. We must be very dedicated to the call of God, so that we can be crowned at the end of our journey. “And in the morning, rising up long before the day, he went out and went to a lonely place, and there he prayed” (Mark 1:35).

There is a time for everything and time should be used wisely. It should be used for functional activities, which glorify God and not in frivolous things. As believers we must create time to engage in spiritual activities that help our spiritual growth. Prayers and Bible studies are not to be trifled with. We must also be diligent in doing good things.

We seek God in faith if we want something from him. Unbelief robs man of God’s goodness. Faith in God makes you not lose hope. It helps you to be very resilient and determined. God’s promises can be inherited through faith and patience. All God’s commandments must be diligently observed. “And it shall come to pass that, if ye diligently hear my commandments, which I command you today, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, I will give you the rain of your land in due season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your wheat, your wine, and your oil” (Deuteronomy 11:13-14).

We must always remember His goodness whenever we face any challenge(s). We must always have a heart of gratitude at all times. By doing so, our creator will be pleased with us. Our hearts must diligently seek God and His truth. The more we walk with God, the more we know about him. Humility, perseverance, firmness can help us achieve this goal. We must not be satisfied with our current level of spirituality, but we must always aspire and work to become better in Christ. It is worth working for Jesus Christ; because there can never be any regrets. God can never forget your work and labor of love because He is too righteous not to remember. You must show and minister God’s love to everyone around you. You must show the act of kindness and generosity as you are the image of the living God.

There should be a self-examination to detect one’s diligence with God. We have been called to preach the gospel without time. With longsuffering, we must not be afraid to reprove, rebuke and exhort the world, according to the word of God. We must seriously fight for the faith, which has once been delivered to us. We must diligently stand firm in the word of God. It is mandatory that the Word of God be taught to our children and children. They must meditate on his words day and night, so that they abound in the love, knowledge and grace of God. Being diligent in the service of God is never in vain as it protects us from evil. Be steadfast, immovable and prosper in the work of God. In Christianity, diligence leads to a sure hope until the end of time. The Lord rewards those who diligently seek Him.

In your legal and personal business, you must be diligent. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor ingenuity, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you are going.”

When you complain that your personal business is not going well, you need to look at yourself to find out if you are the cause. Some people do not succeed in their works because of lack of interest, dishonesty, laziness, tardiness and many more.

They have bad attitudes that can destroy their business and drive customers away. You cannot blame God for your own mistakes and misfortunes. Whatever work God has placed in your hands, no matter how menial or small, do it diligently and see God prosper the work of your hands. Do your work with passion, dignity and pride.

“Do you see a man diligent in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before evil men” (Proverbs 22:29).
