New and past episodes of “Days of Our Lives” will move exclusively to the Peacock streaming platform starting Monday, September 12.
NBC will replace Days of Our Lives with a new one-hour news program “NBC News Daily.” The show will air in the drama network’s old timeslot.
Peacock will now be the exclusive home of the drama. The historic move will allow viewers to access all episodes in one place. The Emmy Award-winning drama will debut on Peacock daily, available to stream for Peacock Premium subscribers. This includes Peacock’s original “Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem.”
“This programming change benefits both Peacock and NBC and reflects our broader strategy of using our portfolio to maximize reach and strengthen engagement with viewers,” said Mark Lazarus, president of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming . “With a large percentage of the ‘Days of Our Lives’ audience already watching digitally, this move allows us to build the show’s loyal fan base on streaming while strengthening the network’s daytime offering with an urgent opportunity to live programming for members and consumers.”
NBC News Daily will be an hour-long program hosted by NBC News’ Kate Snow, Aaron Gilchrist, Vicky Nguyen and Morgan Radford. Journalists will have current national and international news. The new show will also air on NBC News NOW and Peacock. It will premiere on September 12 on NBC stations.
