Former NBA champion Iman Shumpert was arrested on drug charges at a Texas airport over the weekend after police found marijuana in his bag.
Shumpert was as reported carrying over six ounces on him. And while recreational marijuana is legal in Texas, it is not at the federal level; that is, air travel is prohibited.
The 32-year-old could face up to two years in prison if convicted.
The NBA world reacted to Shump’s news via social media.
“Shump must be smoking sherm if he thinks he can walk around DFW airport with SIX [EXPLETIVE] OUNCES,” one user responded. “Texas is not a big dog from California. Jesus”.
“TSA: Sir, is that your backpack? Shump:”
“Shump looks like he started with 7 ounces before he got to the airport,” another replied.
“SHUMP FREE!!!!!!” one Cavs fan tweeted.
“Biden poised to offer Shump for Britney”.
