Frightening footage has emerged of a vicious brawl involving around 20 youths that broke out in Auckland’s CBD over the weekend.
The brawl took place across the road from the former Auckland Central Police Station and directly outside Radio New Zealand (RNZ) on Saturday night.
At the beginning of the video, a group can be seen fighting in the street while another small group fights on the road.
Suddenly, more than four separate fights broke out, and in one, a person was dragged onto the road.
This then turns into a huge brawl and those involved can be seen brutally punching, throwing and jumping at each other.
Meanwhile, two more continue to fight outside the large group, and at one point briefly step out into the street, causing a passing vehicle to sound its horn as a warning.
The large group continued to struggle up the stairs of the RNZ building.
In the video, a few people can be seen trying to break up the fight, but moments later two of the group started punching each other and the fight flared up again, with one person falling down the stairs and another being thrown to the ground and then stepped on.
The video is almost two minutes long and screams can be heard throughout.
Eventually, most of the group began to disperse.
Police have been contacted for comment.
