The future of softball is making the pilgrimage to Greenville, NC for the 2022 Little League Softball World Series.
Like its Williamsport-based baseball counterpart, the tournament has undergone some changes since last hosting teams from both the United States and overseas.
The most significant of these changes is that the East and West regions were split into two. The East Region now contains two regions (the Mid-Atlantic Region and the New England Region), while the West Region consists of the Northwest and West Regions.
This change allowed 12 teams to participate in this year’s tournament, compared to the ten that had participated in the past. More action for those making the trek to Greenville.

The tournament has tended to be dominated by American teams. An international team has won the competition only once: Puerto Rico in 2001. However, the game continues to grow at home and abroad, much of which comes from the intrigue that occurs while watching the softball competition.

2022 Little League Softball World Series Support
There are 12 teams participating in the 2022 Little League Softball World Series. It is a double-elimination tournament, meaning teams still have a chance to make it to the finals if they lose the first game.
The larger bracket is split into two different brackets: the purple bracket and the orange bracket. Teams that advance from the purple and orange brackets will then face the winner of the two elimination brackets to determine which teams compete for the crown of Little League Softball World Series champions. The losers of the two semifinals will face each other in a consolation game for third place.

Little League Softball World Series Schedule
The Little League Softball World Series will begin on August 9th and end on August 15th. Twenty-two games will be played over those seven days, with the finale taking place at Stallings Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina.
