Statement by Governor Lamont on the signing of the Inflation Reduction Act
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont released the following statement regarding today’s signing of the Inflation Relief Act of 2022 by President Joe Biden:
“Once again, President Biden and the Democrats in Congress have delivered for America. Over the past year, Connecticut has taken bold and immediate action to help families feel the pressure of inflation. From today, thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, there’s even more relief for Connecticut households.Our seniors who rely on Medicare for their prescription drugs will finally see the prices of some of the most expensive drugs in the market. Connecticut families who rely on Access Health CT for their health coverage will save an average of $220 per month in premiums. Because of the clean energy investments that will be made as a result of this law, our consumers they will enjoy lower utility costs and cleaner air. I thank and congratulate President Biden and Connecticut’s congressional delegation on this great achievement.”
