Connecticut State Police said this week it has stripped a detective of his police powers pending the results of an active investigation.
Detective Michael O’Hara was placed on administrative leave Monday, state police said. State police did not disclose the cause or the nature of the investigation.
“This investigation is active and ongoing and to maintain the integrity of the investigation we are unable to discuss any further details regarding this incident,” state police said in a statement.
O’Hara has been with the department’s Office of Special Investigations since 2018. State payroll records show his total compensation was $145,936 in 2021, including a base salary of $106,960 and $25,383 in pay overtime hours.
