US Supreme Court Asks Feds To Weigh In On Medical Marijuana Workers Compensation Cases – Marijuana Moment

A Connecticut legislative committee on Friday approved a bill that would set the state up to provide certain patients with access to psychedelic-assisted treatment with substances like MDMA and psilocybin. Before the vote, several members of the joint Public Health Committee remarked on the compelling testimony of top military officials, advocates and scientists who spoke about their experiences and the potential impact of the reform at a hearing earlier this week. The legislation was approved on a noncontroversial basis as part of the panel’s consent calendar. It now advances to floor consideration. The measure, HB 5396, would create psychedelic treatment…

Zoning Update Would Isolate Local Pot Shops – New Haven Independent

Nora Grace-Flood photo At Hamden’s High Bazaar. These types of “private marijuana vending events, cannabis trade shows or public cannabis events” would not be allowed under newly proposed New Haven law. “High Bazaar” in New Haven? Not anytime soon. That’s according to a newly proposed zoning update that would prohibit the types of weekly commercial cannabis parties that currently take place in Hamden — as part of a broader city effort to define where pot shops should and should not be allowed in the Elm City. Those marijuana-regulating details are included in a proposed set of city zoning code and map amendments recently submitted by the City…

Learn How Cannabis Edibles Work

Before the advent of adult-use legal dispensaries and licensed cannabis brands, procuring edibles was mostly a take-it-or-leave-it proposition. Let’s face it: Buying through unregulated channels doesn’t usually come with much in the way of choice, which is why plastic-wrapped cookies and brownies of dubious origin (and unknown potency) still linger in the public’s mind as the default imagery when the subject of cannabis edibles arises. That may have been true in the past, but today, there’s a veritable grocery store’s worth of different cannabis foods, snacks, beverages and tinctures available—all thoroughly tested, clearly labeled and packaged safely to protect children and pets….

Kathy Hochul’s proposal, unveiled last month, would be among the largest sums any state has committed to try to ensure diversity and social equity in the fast-growing legal pot business. The plan also is somewhat unusual for relying on money from private sources. In one recent…
