Vernon school chief raps pot plan | Vernon | journalinquirer.com – Journal Inquirer
VERNON — A proposed zoning amendment regarding the retail sale of cannabis in town is causing controversy as it would allow retail sales of marijuana as close as 500 feet from a school. For School Superintendent Joseph Macary, this distance is too close for comfort. At a public hearing last week, Macary told the Planning and Zoning Commission that the proposed distance is in violation of state and federal law. “There is a federal law and a state law that says there are supposed to be drug-free school zones. And those school zones are 1,500 feet from the boundary of…

Cannabis cultivators the world over know the obsessive, purgatorial feeling of waiting for their plants to mature to discern sex – female, male or hermaphrodite. A male plant, while essential for reproduction, can also run rampant across a garden and devastate an entire crop of flowering female plants — intended for consumption — by inadvertently pollinating them and causing hermaphroditism. If culled and managed correctly, the male becomes a key part of this sustainable, perpetuating reproduction process. There’s no way to ascertain if a seedling is male or female with the naked eye. Growers often find themselves on the edge of their…

Using a slow cooker allows you to go about your business while cooking your nourishing broth for hours. And hours. The longer you cook the broth the better it will be. You need to remember that the water evaporates, so check it every few hours and add water as needed. Adding decarbed cannabis adds a whole new level of enjoyment. Although you skim the fat off the top as it cooks, enough of the cannabis adheres to the gelatin and collagen resulting in a heady, mildly high-making broth. If you are interested in a more potent stock, add cannabis oil or…

The Washington, D.C. District Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a measure designed to support medical marijuana dispensaries still struggling with the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The emergency measure, which extends the expiration date for medical marijuana patient identification cards, was approved without language that had appeared in earlier versions of the legislation which would have cracked down on so called marijuana gifting businesses and delivery services. Under the bill introduced by District Council Chairman Phil Mendelson, patients with medical marijuana identification cards that have expired since March 2020 may continue to use them to purchase cannabis through the…
