Epilepsy Patients Who Use ‘Artisanal CBD’ Have Higher Quality Of Life, Study Finds – Marijuana Moment

A pair of research projects funded by $20 million in tax revenue from Michigan’s adult-use cannabis program will analyze the effects of medical marijuana in military veterans, state officials announced on Tuesday. The bulk of the money, nearly $13 million, will examine “the efficacy of marijuana in treating the medical conditions of United States armed service veterans and preventing veteran suicide,” according to recipients at the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). Cuomo’s slow rollout of legalized weed becoming a real buzzkill, critics say – New York Post

New York’s legalized-pot program is on a train to nowhere —  apparently derailed because Gov. Andrew Cuomo is fuming over his stalled plans to overhaul leadership at the MTA. Cuomo and the state Legislature approved the legalized sale of weed in New York in March, but the governor has since become a real buzzkill on the issue, critics say. He has yet to nominate an executive director for his new Office of Cannabis Management or name appointees to the Cannabis Control Board, even though the Marijuana Taxation and Regulation Act was passed months ago, they say. Origins of Cannabis: Plant Was First Domesticated 12,000 Years Ago

Researchers investigating the first domestication of cannabis have determined that the plant was originally cultivated in what is now northwestern China, according to a recently released study published in the journal Science Advances. The team of researchers investigating the origins of cannabis analyzed the genomes of more than 100 cannabis plants from around the world to conduct the study. “It confirms it is one of the oldest cultivated plants,” said Luca Fumagalli, a biologist working at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, who led the study. “We think it was a multipurpose plant.
