CT state parks reach parking capacity, close to new visitors

Several state parks closed to new visitors Sunday after reaching parking capacity, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Squantz Pond State Park, located in New Fairfield, was the first to close at about 11:40 a.m., officials said. Bigelow Hollow State Park, located in Union, followed a few minutes later, officials said. Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown and Millers Pond State Park in Haddam have also reached parking capacity. Residents of Boksburg have expressed concern about the disused and derelict state-owned building on the corner of Leeuwpoort and Bank streets, next to the traffic court. The property in question was used years ago by the Department of the Interior, but the furniture and other contents have been collecting dust since the occupants left.The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure has not yet responded to the Boksburg Advertiser’s request for information about the building.
