Guelph rower captures bronze on the world stage

A Guelph rower has won a bronze medal at the Italian Under-23 Championships. Stephen Harris arrived at ‘A’ last Saturday morning. He got there by posting the second-fastest time in the semifinal round of the lightweight men’s individual sculls on Friday. His performance on Saturday led to a bronze medal. Harris’ mother tells CTV News that he represented Canada in 2018 in Mexico and won gold twice. He also won bronze at the World Indoors in March this year. Source link

China said it was conducting military exercises off its coast off Taiwan after warning Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, to scrap possible plans to visit the island democracy. At least 7 motorcycles involved in crash in Westmoreland County

Paramedics and other emergency services were called to the scene of a crash involving several motorcycles in Westmoreland County Saturday afternoon. The crash happened on White Cloud Road in the Allegheny Township area. At least seven motorcycles were involved in the accident. Among the injured. , four were taken to the hospital by medical helicopter; three were transported by ambulance and one to the hospital by other means. Unlicensed THC product sales continue to draw concern from state officials

Attorney General William Tong said this week that sales of over-the-counter THC products are unsafe, unregulated and must be reported to authorities. “This product likely violates several of our packaging and advertising provisions and may violate the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act,” Tong said in a statement. “In addition, the unlicensed sale of cannabis is a criminal offense. Anyone who sees these products for sale should contact both the Attorney General’s Office and local authorities.” The state has not yet licensed any retailers for recreational sales of cannabis to adults, but expects to by the end of the year. Biden tests positive for COVID-19, returns to isolation Washington

White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor said in a letter that Biden “has not experienced any recurrence of symptoms and continues to feel quite well.” In accordance with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Biden will again self-isolate for at least five full days.
